Our Cantorial Soloist

We are thrilled to celebrate the High Holy Days once again with Cantorial Soloist Ilana Goldberg!

Finding connection and community through music has been a central tenet for Ilana Goldberg since she began performing as a young artist in the Chicagoland area. Now based in New York City, Ilana skillfully maneuvers through operatic, contemporary, musical theater, choral, along with cantorial repertoires, maintaining a devotion to communication through song in whichever genre presented.

Ilana, a US Presidential Scholar in the Arts, has had the honor of performing for many of our country’s highest dignitaries, both at the White House and at the John F. Kennedy Center. After being awarded by the National Foundation of Arts and Awards, now known as YoungArts, Ilana was a featured singer in the HBO special Masterclass with Plácido Domingo. She was a finalist in the Franco-American Vocal Academy's Grand Concours de Chant and is a recipient of the Anna Sosenko Assist Trust, Jewish Vocational Services Fund and a Merit Scholarship (Manhattan School of Music).

Ilana relishes her ability to lead as a Cantorial soloist, as she did for years at Anshe Emet Synagogue in Chicago. She has performed recitals in the Cantorial, Sephardic, and Yiddish repertoire across the country, including New York City, Chicago, New Jersey, and Boca Raton. She has also performed as the Soprano Choral Scholar with the Oratorio Society of New York, under the baton of Kent Tritle, at Carnegie Hall.

She holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree from Manhattan School of Music.
