Join Rabbi Mendelson Graf and the Port Jewish Center community every Shabbat and Jewish Holiday as we come together as an inclusive community. Children are welcome at every service, although there are some that might be more kid-friendly due to start time or length. Adults are encouraged at all services, as well, as we bask in the warmth of raising the next generation within our congregational embrace.
Our main Erev Shabbat Service is held at 8:00 pm on Friday nights. This service includes Kabbalat Shabbat music and prayers, Torah reading, sermon or discussion, and a communal Oneg Shabbat. Check our calendar for periodic family services. During the summer months, Shabbat services are held at 6:30 pm.
High Holy Day Services are held on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. All are welcome to join with Port Jewish Center, although we do welcome contributions from non-members who are able to help support the synagogue.
Festival and Holiday Services are scheduled throughout the year in celebration of Pesach, Shavuot, Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Chanukah, and Purim. For the three festivals, Yizkor services are scheduled in the morning, as well. Please see the PJC calendar for upcoming service dates.
For each Shabbat Service, two to three congregational families share the honor of sponsoring the Oneg. Each member family provides participates in one Oneg Shabbat each year.
Members: To sign up for an oneg date, please use Sign Up Genius (or contact the main office for help – info@portjewishcenter.org).
