Office Manager – Part-time flexible work in a synagogue with growth opportunity and fantastic people

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Office Manager will perform administrative duties, database management, and special projects support for Port Jewish Center (PJC). In this support role, they will work closely with PJC’s Rabbi, Education Director and lay leadership. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Be the “voice of the office,” manage synagogue calendar, coordinate events and manage the phone system.

2. Manage membership database and support membership growth.

3. Support the Rabbi with administrative tasks, phone calls, events, logistics and special projects.

4. Attend and prepare documents for monthly board meetings, events and programs as needed.

5. Oversee the operation of the building and grounds; serve as the liaison to building staff, building visitors and maximize building use.

4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong email and phone etiquette.

5. Proficient in Windows environment, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet; Google Workspace.

HOURS: 24 hours per week; days of work as arranged upon hiring

COMPENSATION: $25-30/hour depending on experience
